About the Role 

We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Peanuts Worldwide Finance team! Reporting to Director, Business Analysis, you will support in continuous financial process improvements to create efficiencies and improve the timeliness of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and data integrity, while continuing to develop best practices in policies, processes, controls, and documentation. 

 

Responsibilities  

 

Budgets/Forecasts

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets by licensee by territory and recurring forecast updates by reaching out to licensing team and directly to licensees and/or international agents to get royalty and new business projections and contract renewal information.
  • Evaluate appropriateness of royalty projections provided based on licensee’s historical performance and eventually garnered experience with various accounts
  • Roll up revenue by key licensee and by territory to provide analytics for management review

Financial Analysis

  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial and ledger reports, identify and research variances of actual vs. budget for management review

Monthly/Quarterly Reporting

  • Support the monthly close process by updating royalty projections and preparing/reviewing revenue related journal entries
  • Generate and distribute financial reports

Operations

  • Partner with DHX Finance team to help ensure accurate contract data entry, royalty reporting, revenue recognition and timely collection efforts
  • Support licensing sales and brand executives in providing any financial analysis or reporting needed to help pitch new business or evaluate the value of existing partnerships

Qualifications 

  • Experience in Accounting or Finance, with a focus on planning, analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel knowledge preferable.
  • Well organized, detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and requests
  • Team player who can also work pro-actively and independently
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Jaguar and West end, an asset
