About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Global Softlines, you will play a critical role in architecting Peanuts Worldwide short and long term planning and execution of its category management for softlines. You will directly manage existing partners, prospect and acquire new licensees in addition to working with Director of Retail and Partnerships to drive category initiatives. As the Category Manager, Softlines, you will influence how we execute on our strategic priority of expanding licensing leadership – working on projects that really matter.   



  • Directly manage Peanuts Worldwide (PWW) licensees in the following categories: Domestics, Home, Electronics and Pet
  • Secure new licensees in designated categories tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the overall PWW domestic business
  • Manage day to day business including all aspects of category management: financials, contracts (new deals, amendments and renewals), account management and relationship building, product strategy, category and market analysis, trend forecasting and data for retail placement
  • Work closely with softlines VP for management of overall apparel program including fashion collaborations
  • Oversee and coordinate content for Snoopy in Fashion Instagram account tied to category initatives to support all softline categories
  • Work with dept. VP and Director to develop retail strategies for categories at mid-tier, mass, and sepcialty retail accounts



  • Experience in the licensing industry, sales and/or brand management
  • Experience with pitching properties, securing and negotiating deal points and managing licensees; preferably in character or entertainment industry
  • College degree, preferably in Business or related field
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key players across softlines categories and retail relationships
  • Motivated self-started who demonstrates strong initiative, creativity and excellent work ethic
  • Solid understanding of ROI, market and revenue development, with P&L and budget management skills
  • Flexible team player with ability to work collaboratively across the company
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to think strategically to complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem solver that acts decisively and demonstrates good judgement
  • Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment that necessitates working on many different projects simultaneously
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, excel, powerpoint etc.)
  • Domestic travel is required
