The Role

WildBrain CPLG is looking for an emerging Product Development Manager to join our Creative Services, Product Development team! Working across a wide catalogue of exciting lifestyle, entertainment and sports brands, you will be responsible for ensuring the clients’ approval processes are adhered to and creative execution on all product ranges are best in class.  Liaising with the local commercial team, global Creative team and Designers in Europe & Asia, the role requires a candidate who is inquisitive about trend newness and interested in different markets.


This is a perfect opportunity for a Product Development Coordinator or similar level to take a step up into a broader & fast paced role.


Licensee engagement:

  • Drive Licensee brand engagement for brands such as: Peanuts, Dr. Seuss, Yale University, Teletubbies, Sony and many more.
  • Onboarding and developing licensees through holding brand creative sessions & style guide refreshers
  • Managing the end-to-end product development process spanning exciting product categories from trend-led fast fashion to plush toys
  • Managing approvals process taking into consideration brand, commercial and creative impacts
  • Deliver weekly updates to the local sales team including reports on Licensee developments, status and asset updates.


  • Identify style guide gaps and Licensee needs in line with the wider Creative Services team.
  • Proactively manage Licensees’ range development ensuring gaps in product development are identified including assessing quality of final product
  • Inspire Licensees by utilising all tools delivered by the Creative Services team, i.e. trend reports and asset generation
  • Participate in global team activities, such as comp shops, providing visibility to the group.


  • Ensure all product submissions are managed in accordance with the submission process for the relevant brand.
  • Manage and review quarterly Licensee reports highlighting products selected for market and communicate status to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Provide training and guidance on systems, such as Mediabox where required to do so.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Sound knowledge of the product development and approval processes and demonstrable experience in creatively driving range development
  • Experience working in the licensing sector or product design/development with natural curiosity of upcoming trends
  • Ability to connect understanding of licensor and licensee perspectives with a commercial mindset
  • Experience and ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously across a wide variety of IP, price points and product categories
  • A good understanding of consumer product categories and their production limitations with a focus on softlines
  • Proficient with using on-line approval software including running reports
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrate creative flair within presentation & communication styles.
  • Passionate about bringing brands to life with enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
