About the Role

We’re seeking a Communications Specialist with relevant experience to join our Communications team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Communications, the Communications Specialist contribtues to the development, planning, and execution of employee communications programs. The successful candidate has impeccable writing skills and acts as a liaison for stakeholders across WildBrain’s global business, developing and managing the distribution of strategic messages across the company’s channels.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sr. Manager, Communications to develop and deliver the communications programs, ensuring the company’s voice is consistent and present throughout all communications materials and initiatives.
• Create compelling communications materials for multiple audiences including written, graphic and video content.
• Act as primary owner of WildBrain’s global intranet portal and weekly newsletter, by liaising with business units and divisional stakeholders to create original and engaging content, ensure all materials are relevant, and distribute updates company-wide on a weekly basis.
• Oversee daily management of Glassdoor, including content creation to enhance WildBrain’s recruitment marketing strategy, actively monitor audience interactions, and report on engagement.
• Contribute to the development, planning and execution of local and global communications events (diversity and inclusion, wellness, recognition, etc.) to enhance employee engagement.
• Identify opportunities to implement new communications approaches or to improve existing methods on both a local and global level.

Qualifications

• Experience in a communications role, preferably within a global organization.
• Post-secondary degree or college diploma in communications, journalism or public relations, or relevant experience.
• A creative sensibility and passion for employee culture and community building.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders, including interacting with executives.
• Keen desire to learn and take on new challenges.
• Demonstrated good judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
• Exceptional written and editing skills, showing an ear for voice and tone.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Skills in graphic design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva) and video editing programs (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) are an asset.
• Experience using website content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint) is an asset.
