About the job/role


We are looking for a self-motivated engineer who can be responsible for the design, development, and testing of rich web applications and components that support our content supply chain.


We are experimentative, we make big and small changes, and we are motivated by the fact that everything we do has the potential to be impactful. We know we won’t always get things right the first time and enjoy learning and exploring new ideas.


Our technology stack is mainly PHP, Node & ReactJS but we are now moving towards using Python as our preferred language. We mostly use AWS for Applications and Services along with GCP for our Data needs.


 


What we use



  • React.JS and the React ecosystem (Redux)

  • Python3 along with PHP (some Laravel)

  • Microservices - APIs/RESTful services

  • Relational and NoSQL databases like MySQL

  • Git and in particular GitHub

  • Jira, Confluence


 


Responsibilities



  • Exploring, Investigating, Developing, Enhancing and sometimes Decommissioning a range of in-house built software systems and services that create, operate, report on, support and manage our entire AVOD platform and related content library.

  • Working alongside our Data Scientists and Data Analysts to create ML/AI-based new tools and technologies that enhance our content and inspire future content production

  • Working with our Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, Customers, Users and others to explore requirements, test ideas and design new, bespoke solutions.


Qualifications



  • Experience in delivering software solutions in a professional capacity, designing, and developing web applications with an understanding of accessibility and test-driven development

  • Strong problem solving, debugging and performance tuning skills

  • Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision and manage tasks with varying priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to research and quickly work with new technologies
