About the Role

 

WildBrain is looking for an FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team! Reporting to Manager, FP&A, you will bring your technical know-how and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across the company.

You will be responsible for providing financial planning and analytical support as a key member of the FP&A team. Leading variance analysis on corporate SG&A, you will be using the Vena platform to drive insights. The FP&A analyst will also support stakeholders across the organization in reporting, ad hoc projects, and providing general financial support. The role will also work closely with the accounting department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build, implement, and improve reports and dashboards for key stakeholders using Vena budgeting/reporting platform
  • Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast process
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the company
  • Maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
  • Ad hoc projects for the FP&A department as directed
  • Follow up with department heads and finance leads for variance analysis on monthly opex results
  • Work with departmental leads to continuously improve on forecasting submission
  • Assist in consolidation of monthly and quarterly corporate opex reports, identifying key trends, variances, and areas of improved performance
  • Assist in driving insightful analysis to highlight variance drivers and identify opportunities

Qualifications

  • Experience in an analytical role, or other relevant experience with forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning
  • Minimum post-secondary degree (with focus in Business, Finance, Economics, or diploma from an accredited business program preferred)
  • Proficient with financial modeling techniques and strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency/advanced skills with Excel are essential. Exposure to Microsoft VBA, Macros, Power Query and Power BI considered an asset
  • Familiarity with accounting software – Great Plains experience considered an asset
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
