About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Production Finance, the Production Finance Accountant will support the production division on a range of children’s brands.  This will include production cost reporting, production tax credit applications, as well as ad-hoc analysis.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Communicate with show-level production accountants on a regular basis to obtain monthly production reports for corporate financial reporting month-end closes
  • Perform month-end reconciliations and obtain cash forecasts from production
  • Post and review of entries in Microsoft Dynamics GP and production accounting systems
  • Perform post-production accounting duties relating to accounts payable/receivable, intercompany and treasury transactions
  • Run tax credit estimates throughout production as costs are incurred and budgets are adjusted
  • Lead special purpose cost report audits to support tax return filing and support corporate fiscal year-end audits
  • Set up bank accounts, administer CRA program accounts and set up production accounting system to onboard show-level production accountants
  • Contribute to the design and build of analytical reports and tracking tools used for reporting and financial analysis
  • Track and analyze variances regarding actuals vs. budgets/forecasts and communicate findings when necessary to executive producers and production team
  • Regularly communicate with various stakeholders through different stages of production

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in accounting and/or analyst role
  • Experience in production accounting is an asset 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation or pursuing a CPA designation considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or any other financial reporting system considered an asset
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Efficient and detail oriented
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
