About the Role


WildBrain CPLG is looking for a Licensing Manager to join our USA Sales team! You will develop and strategically grow existing and new business for CPLG’s representation in the USA within the consumable, health & beauty aid, and other categories. You will report to the Director, Licensing, and work closely with the USA sales team, securing licensees for each property and maximizing retail activity.


You will be responsible for identifying the best licensees to partner with, negotiating agreements, and driving innovative and quality product ranges. You will have detailed knowledge of retail landscape and the ability to interface with senior and mid-level client contacts. You will be a creative, strategic thinker with strong business acumen, who is comfortable operating in complex environments.



  • Be the main commercial contact for your clients within your defined categories.
  • Together with Director, Licensing, set and execute the company’s licensing strategies and review quarterly within the company´s budget process.
  • Identify licensing opportunities and fill market gaps across the category considering segment, market, channel and franchise, and in accordance with agreed licensor strategies.
  • Lead contract negotiations for key licensees, analyze and control business plans to ensure contract deliverables are met throughout the term.
  • Accountable for day-to-day management of key licensees including business reviews.
  • Ensure timely product approvals in line with industry needs. Maintain knowledge of key seasonality per category and buying cycles of retailers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats and dynamics for category and key licensees.
  • Partner with the Product Development team to drive quality in licensed product representation, ensuring lines are commercially viable.
  • Working with the business development and brand management team, assist with presenting business reviews for Licensors and internal CPLG management.
  • Attendance of trade shows and social industry functions where applicable.
  • Fiscal responsibility to include annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting.



  • Strong understanding of brand and property positioning the retail environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of licensees' production and creative capabilities/limitations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategies.
  • A creative thinker with the ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing business environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills.
  • An innovative and creative salesperson with proven experience in account management and new business development.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
