About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Publicity, Live Action, the Marketing Manager (14-month Mat leave) is responsible for overseeing production marketing assets across the original live-action slate in support of the marketing and PR programs of our strategic broadcast and streaming partners. You will become an expert on the original IP in production on our live-action slate, getting to know the core of each show to ensure its marketing materials represent the show well to clients and to the audience.  You also provide the Production team(s) with the guidance and support to create excellent marketing deliverables and provide the Distribution team or key content clients with insight into each show.

 

This is a 14-month maternity leave position based in Toronto, Canada with health and dental benefits, PTO, flex days, RRSP matching, etc.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do: 

  • Develop and execute strategic and creative marketing plans for priority live-action shows, ensuring alignment with company’s overall business strategies
  • Work closely with Director of Publicity, Live Action and Unit Publicist to develop, track and deliver Schedule B marketing materials for live action series including bonus content (series trailers, sizzle reel, episode trailers, key clips, behind-the-scenes content), distribution support materials (series synopses, episode synopses, cast and crew bios), marketing and art assets (series bible, logos, key marketing images, gallery photography, publicity stills, fonts, additional graphic elements), and website and social media materials (social media handles, and cast/producer/partner handles)
  • Support content partners (HBOMax, AppleTV+, CBC) proactively with ideas and assets in support of on-air programming while expertly balancing internal resources and availability
  • Lead analysis of marketing asset performance to facilitate campaign optimization, and key learnings for subsequent asset iterations
  • Maintain relationships with producers and their crews to stay informed about all studio productions and be able to advise other teams (Distribution, Communications, PR, etc.) on the details and status of each production.Build and maintain close relationships with programming and creative teams to drive the development of creative assets
  • Assist the Director, Live Action Publicity, with publicity efforts including media relations, events and cast relations
  • Assist with the creation of presentations and collateral materials to support global distribution sales efforts
  • Lead digital media marketing effort for WildBrain’s original production live action slate
  • Manage and execute live action digital media budgets
  • When applicable, work with federal funding bodies, producing applications to finance digital media projects

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience coming from content marketing, production management, or animation asset management environments required
  • Experience or familiarity with production processes – bonus if experienced with kids & family content
  • Excellent communicator with client-facing experience
  • Ability to act as a translator between production teams and other groups (Marketing, Distribution, Clients, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver a clear and concise creative brief to graphic designers and production
  • Skilled at interpreting feedback from multiple sources into clear actionable notes
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills, with ability to adapt to different voices and styles
  • An eye for design and layout in marketing creative, presentations, and text documents
  • Expert-level PowerPoint skills, with an eye for consistency and layout
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize both own workload and tasks assigned to others
