About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, the Compensation & Benefits Data Analyst will provide critical support in data preparation and analytics in the area of compensation and benefits and will assist in the coordination of annual Total Rewards programs. As a member of the Talent Operations team, the Analyst will also collaborate across the team to understand and fulfill human resource reporting needs.



  • Support the administration of Total Rewards programs and processes including: job evaluation, benchmarking and salary surveys, base and variable pay, annual performance incentive process, annual salary review process
  • Assist in the job analysis and evaluation process, and prepare monthly audit of job grades in HRIS system
  • Assist in the completion of compensation and benefits surveys, and analysis of resulting data to help proactively determine areas of focus
  • Support the annual performance incentive program by ensuring data capture in HRIS and performing monthly audits, and assist in the preparation of data and communication to staff
  • Support the annual salary review process by participating in the preparation of departmental worksheets, distribution of salary change letters to staff and updating of salary information for Canadian benefits coverage
  • Support benefits coverage program by conducting quarterly audits comparing HRIS and benefits provider data, and bi-annual benefits re-enrollment process through pre and post audits, identifying changes and action items and following through with team
  • Work collaboratively across the Talent Operations team to understand and deliver human resource reporting and analysis needs
  • As subject matter expert, stay current on best practices, evaluate current data practices and systems to recommend changes or improvements for talent reporting and analysis



  • Post-secondary education in human resources, data, business, or related field
  • Experience in compensation and Canadian benefits
  • Solid understanding of job evaluation process and competency principles
  • Understanding of data analysis processes including collection, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large data files
  • Progressive experience producing robust reports, ideally on UKG BI reporting tool or similar
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel – VLOOKUPS, Formulas, VBA Macros, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience implementing data related processes or initiatives
  • Quality focused with superior attention to detail, and are a process thinker
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with a knack for truly listening, interpreting information, conducting research, and working collaboratively to achieve business results
  • Solid understanding of talent business needs and employee life cycle to provide relevant insights
  • Previous experience working with sensitive information and holds a high regard for confidentiality
