About the Role


WildBrain is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Finance team! Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, you will have overall accounting responsibility of supporting an efficient and timely period-end reporting, preparing key G/L account reconciliations, and preparation of legal entity statements.


  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to identify potential issues or risks and work with finance team to resolve
  • Review of monthly and quarterly financial results, including detailed B/S and P&L analytics for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare working papers to support third-party participations payables, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and maintain Investment in Film related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Analysis of production financing structures as it relates to the impact of legal entity accounting and intercompany eliminations
  • Assist with monitoring the month end close process
  • Manage legal entity accounting and transfer pricing adjustments for statutory reporting and tax compliance
  • Preparation of working papers and analysis to support quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditors
  • Coordination of internal, external and statutory audits
  • Researching new financial disclosure requirements; assessing and documenting the impact on the Company
  • Oversee documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices for the finance team
  • Assist with system improvements and automation of financial reporting processes and reconciliations
  • Assist with adhoc requests from management and various departments
  • Support other special projects as required


  • Accounting designation required; CPA-CA is preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a public company preferred
  • Experience working in media and or studio production distribution environment preferred
  • Highly analytical and strong, effective communicator
  • Ability to challenge status quo as required by improving existing processes and are open to sourcing ideas from others
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
  • Team player, upbeat, and focused, with a strong passion to learn and succeed
  • Possess a “hands-on” approach for all situations, no task too big or too small to handle
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and other systems (ex. Great Plains Dynamics, Management Reporter) is an asset
  • Strong computer skills required including solid working knowledge of spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel)
