The Role

 

WildBrain CPLGis looking for a Product Development Manager to join our UK & France Product Development team! You will be responsible for ensuring the clients’ approval processes are strictly adhered to and creative execution on all product ranges are best in class.  Liaising with the UK sales team and international Product Development Managers and designers on cross-territory brands, the role requires strong experience, creativity, attention to detail and drive.

Responsibilities

  • Product development across a wide number of brands and categories, including WB Brand properties with overall responsibility for all product approvals.
  • Line Manage Product Development Coordinator in UK office and one in French office.
  • Managing the Product Development Executive effectively, ensuring team workloads are balanced, goals and targets are set and supported in achieving those.
  • Ensure all of the clients’ product development processes are adhered to and licensees understand each process and the assets available to them.
  • Receive style guides, trend guides and other adhoc assets from clients and ensuring all assets are saved and available to the team and Licensees.
  • Service all licensees within the remit of their contracts and keep open strong lines of communication
  • Report to the UK Sales team on a weekly basis keeping them abreast of all licensee developments, style guide updates and escalating issues where necessary
  • Ensure open lines of communication and management across the WB Brands portfolio with the brands team this will include, but not limited to quarterly calls.
  • Spearheading regular calls with clients to keep them up to date with development and feedback on assets/trends
  • Engage with the wider creative team on style guide reviews, trends and comp shops.
  • Organising creative kick off calls with licensees ahead of development including the clients where applicable
  • Participate in regular summits and status calls with the wider creative team.
  • Report quarterly to sales team on designs in selection and those that have been confirmed / raised purchase orders.
  • Ensure the sample filing is kept up to date
  • Brainstorming and feeding back to the wider creative team with innovative product ideas
  • Attending licensee meetings and licensor events

Qualifications

 

  • Sound knowledge of the product development and approval processes and experience of creatively driving range development
  • An understanding of consumer product categories and their production limitations
  • Proficient with using on-line approval software including running reports
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft packages
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders with good presentation skills
  • Wider knowledge of licensing and product/design trends
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep a calm head
