WildBrain is looking for a Show TD to join our team! We are excited to bring this project to life through the Unreal Game Engine pipeline.


In this role you will help research, develop and support the technical aspects of the production, be the go to for the artists and the CG Supervisor, and liaise with pipeline and other studio show TDs.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in the overall process and improvement of the production pipeline
  • Serve as the show’s first line of support, firefighting day-to-day pipeline issues
  • Proactively find and communicate any challenges faced in production to the CG and Pipeline Supervisor
  • Liaise with artists and CG Supervisor to ensure production support and workflow needs are met
  • Provide assistance troubleshooting pipeline issues, and communicate any technical issues to Pipeline or IT, if necessary
  • Educate, mentor and support artists in regards to pipeline workflow and best practices
  • Communicate regularly with the Pipeline team to ensure global pipeline workflows are used
  • Identify any critical path issues and assist in developing new process and innovative solutions to optimize the flow of the global production pipeline
  • Create and update documentation explaining our pipeline process and tools
  • Use time management skills to schedule tasks effectively
  • Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
  • Be a positive and creative force on the team
  • Implement workflow, scripts and tools as needed



What You’ll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in an animation, visual effects or game production environment
  • 1+ years of experience developing in Maya and Unreal Engine is required
  • Experience in Python
  • Ability to identify and monitor potential issues in a production pipeline
  • Expert level understanding of modelling, texturing, shading, lighting, compositing and rendering workflows
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
  • Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a professional and positive manner
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Highly motivated, pro-active, with a solid work ethic and positive attitude

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Qube or other farm solution
  • Experience in MySQL or other databases
  • Experience in Django, Flask or web development
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
  • Experience with Substance
  • Experience with Shotgun and RV
  • Experience in episodic production methodologies
  • Experience with V-Ray and Phoenix FD
