Overview

WildBrain is looking for a Technical Artist to join our team!

 

Reporting directly to the CG Supervisor, the Technical Artist's main responsibility is to marry the pipeline's application workflow with the creative direction of the show.

The Technical Artist is responsible for overseeing the integration of data with Unreal while maintaining the creative of the show. While highly technical, the ideal candidate must have a strong creative eye.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure the successful execution of the creative choices in Unreal
  • Use the tools and methods for improving and facilitating a high-quality experience for the artists
  • Ensure that best practices are being followed and maintained
  • Provide and implement technical training sessions and documentation for team members
  • Ensure that the successful flow of assets and data is maintained throughout all pipeline steps
  • Provide feedback to the show TDs and CG supervisor to implement optimizations
  • Investigate new techniques and implement them with the assistance of the Technical Directors

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3 to 5 years of games/animation/FX production experience with Unreal and Maya
  • Practical experience and understanding of the production workflows in the following pipeline steps: modeling, texturing/shading/surfacing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, compositing
  • Understanding of Lighting, material setups, surfacing, blueprints within Unreal Engine
  • Excellent abilities to troubleshoot problems and think creatively to resolve technical issues
