The Role

 

This Digital Content Technician (Contract) will be reporting to the Sr. Manager of Content Operations and will be responsible for prepping our digital Distribution library assets for ingest into a Media Asset Management system by assessing the files against our internal spec and implementing fixes where necessary.

 

You will bring your knowledge in video editing, Avid Media and quality control to this position.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform technical evaluations on distribution library masters based on a pre-existing QA checklist via Switch, CineX Tools, and Avid Media Composer
  • Perform fixes to digital files for the purpose of content standardization
  • Collaborate with the Workflow Specialist on technical solutions during the validation process
  • Use our enterprise-level transcode systems for processing of files
  • Perform content QC and segmentation marketing within our Media Asset Management System
  • Miscellaneous projects pertaining to the department’s needs as assigned

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Post-Secondary education in Media or a related field
  • Working knowledge of video editing software, Avid Media Composer preferred
  • Strong familiarity with basic video properties (i.e., timecodes, resolution, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of various Transcode systems and platforms (e.g., Vantage, Media Encoder)
  • Knowledge of digital audio/visual codecs beneficial
  • Experience in a quality-control environment providing high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective team player and strong collaborator
  • Possesses excellent organizational and communication skills
