Overview

WildBrain is growing! We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. Working closely with the Talent and Artist Management Teams, the Senior HR Business Partner will support overarching corporate strategies in a creative environment.  A successful candidate will hold strong leadership qualities, the ability to oversee and address management queries in line with current legislation and overarching studio strategies.  This individual works independently with all stakeholders to foster a healthy, diverse, creative, collaborative, fun, and equitable workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance of regulatory processes and practices as required;
  • Act as a key studio contact to address sensitive employee related challenges by providing guidance and resources to the Talent Team, employees and managers;
  • Provide oversight and coordinate documentation and legal guidance for employee interventions, investigations and exits;
  • Manage exiting employee outplacement resources and requirements as required;
  • Act as key studio contact to assist with immigration strategies working closely with the Recruiting Team and 3rd party immigration consultant(s);
  • Lead and guide managers and supervisors with studio and corporate policy changes, interpretation, and processes (including internal people processes such as Performance Management);
  • Execute and administer rate / salary changes, health plan/insurance changes, vacation policies, corporate wellness plans, and case management strategies in coordination with the Corporate Compensation & Benefits Manager;
  • Support and lead case management for leaves and return to work
  • Work with the DTO to establish and oversee development of regulatory and safety training material in line with organizational policies and culture, such as Prevention of Violence, Bullying and Harassment, Privacy, and Code of Conduct;
  • Payroll oversight and guidance (legislation compliance) and ROE coding
  • Coach and support Producers on appropriate people management best practices in leadership, management and retention
  • Work with your Talent Management partners to provide the best tailored solutions for Artists

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources Designation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees
  • Sound knowledge of ESA and regulatory requirements
  • Solid experience with HRIS and ATS
  • Ability to supervisor / mentor department members
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and database applications
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of UltiPro and/or iCIMS considered an asset
  • Previous experience implementing HRIS/ Time Management / ATS system(s) would be an asset
  • Knowledge of animation or entertainment industry an asset
