FX Artist, 2D

WildBrain is looking for 2D Harmony FX Artists to join a new 2D production!

Using Toon Boom Harmony, the FX Artist will create and animate new effects which are production-friendly and efficient, using existing effects while maintaining a high artistic standard. We’re looking for strong drawing skills and the ability to work cooperatively with different departments.

These roles are set to begin in May.

We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!

• Collaborating with Directors, Supervisors, and the Animation Team to design and create effects
• Liaising and communicating with various departments for required assets and input
• Performing artistic tasks and use creative problem solving to create desired effects
• Organizing and managing your own work and files efficiently
• Ensuring work is completed on schedule and to production standards
• Reviewing workload and communicating any issues to Director and Producer
• Assisting with other production tasks to help meet production deadlines

• You have 2+ years of experience working in a production environment in Traditional Animation, Harmony, or Flash
• You have experience hand drawing effects or animation
• You have experience in Harmony FX (preferred)
• You have experience in managing additional production tasks and responsibilities when requested, while maintaining your own workload
• You demonstrate experience, comprehension and knowledge of classical animation, character animation, and effects animation
• You demonstrate solid drawing skills
• You have the ability to work alongside and communicate with a talented and diverse production team
• Basic understanding of lighting and direction of light is a bonus
