Overview

WildBrain is looking for an Online Editor to join our Vancouver studio! As an Online Editor, you will work with DaVinci Resolve to assemble high resolution shots of the show, assess final renders for technical issues, verify grading passes, and follow packaging and technical specifications to create the final delivery files.

 

We are looking for someone with a track record of online editing for episodic television using Resolve, is interested in increasing their grading skills, has a creative eye for colour in SDR & HDR, and enjoys being part of a creative and technical team.

 

This role is set to begin in Winter 2020.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with the production team
  • Manage editorial project/bins/media files efficiently
  • Participate in post meetings and adjust/refine work as indicated by the post production supervisor
  • Migrate locked episodes from Avid Media Composer to DaVinci Resolve
  • Complete slow pass QC reviews for the production team, manage shot iterations
  • Create opening and closing credits along with other graphical elements
  • Deal with a wide variety of file formats (codecs, wrappers)
  • Use Harding FPA analysis software, and when needed, recommend fix strategies to production
  • Liaise with the colourist for grading sessions
  • Review the HDR & SDR grading passes, verify Dolby Vision xml metadata
  • Output final master files for delivery
  • Watch cartoons

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finishing experience in Resolve, both packaging and grading for series
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and collaborative attitude
  • Creative and proactive problem solving skills
  • An understanding of animation production processes
  • An understanding of Dolby vision HDR and a desire to learn more
  • Strong understanding of post procedures, production and workflow
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications related to broadcast deliverables
  • Strong understanding of Davinci Resolve and Avid Media composer is a must
  • Strong understanding of Photoshop is a must
  • Super human attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team

Bonus:

  • Experience with Dolby Vision grading and deliverables for series is a plus
