WildBrain is looking for a Lead Posing Artist/Animator to join our Vancouver studio. Support our posing team in taking this production to the next level! In this role, you'll be working with the team to hit episodic targets while ensuring the quality of scenes are up to the show's standards, helping artists learn and stay on show style. 


This role is set to begin immediately.


We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!


  • Assist the Posing/Animation Supervisors and team of overseas artists in creating high quality 2D Flash animation sequences by finding the storytelling poses from the board (or special posing drawing/rough animation), improving upon them and putting them on model, spelling out complex actions in a variety of ways for animation using existing character and prop builds
  • Ensure that all elements are ready before the team begins posing (e.g. BG, props, character designs, builds, necessary layers)
  • Collaborate with the crew to ensure that all elements of scenes (e.g. BG, Posing, FX, etc.) are present for delivery
  • Animating the episode's more challenging shots
  • Liaise with the overseas team to meet deadlines
  • Work on other related tasks and responsibilities as required (may include maintaining pose libraries, attending & taking notes during Director meetings, handoffs and reviews, fixing builds and poses requested by the Supervisor, solving technical issues on a scene, etc.)


  • 2+ years of experience as a 2D Animator / Posing Artist
  • High level of proficiency in Flash
  • Strong grasp of animation principles, with an emphasis on: staging, strong storytelling poses and the ability to stay on model
  • Ability to motivate, coach and mentor a diverse and talented team
  • Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively within a team
  • Accountability, self-motivation and strong time management skills required for a fast-paced environment
  • Effective and professional communication skills


  • Previous leadership experience on a 2D animated series an asset
  • Strong drawing or illustration portfolio an asset
