WildBrain is looking for an Art Director to join our Vancouver studio. In this role you will play a key role in maintaining the overall visual direction for our 3D Animation TV show. You will partner with the Series Directors and client(s) on establishing design standards and overseeing specialized shots. You are the quality control of the highest level of designs with the Production team.

  • Provide detailed direction to design team per ongoing feedback/updates from the Series Director/client
  • Participate in client meetings to understand/review asset requirements
  • Maintain concepts, designs and desired outputs on time and on budget 
  • Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables 
  • Oversee modeling to build characters, sets, and props; support with recommendations and design support throughout the pipeline
  • Collaborate with Lighting, FX, modeling and supporting departments for show rendering, continuity and art direction
  • Provide Art Direction feedback and recommendations in breakdown meetings 
  • Read show scripts and watch animatics to stay current and up to date with show plans 
  • Identify gaps and implement solutions on assigned epidosdes 
  • Assist production on team/staffing levels for current and future planning


  • 3+ years of Art Direction experience in animation or television OR equivalent experience 
  • Required: Advanced Photoshop & Illustrator 
  • Understanding of the translation from 2D artwork to 3D models 
  • You have strong leadership and mentorship skills 
  • You can provide constructive criticism and valuable feedback 
  • You can adapt to multiple styles, and quickly grasp the design style of the production 
  • You have exceptional communication skills and time management skills 
  • Able to identify strengths and weakness of design team 
  • Able to remain flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of production 



  • BA/BFA degree in fine arts or commercial arts field an asset 
  • Experience and understanding of brand/product marketing is an asset 
  • Knowledge of Cinesync, Maya & Shotgun
