    WildBrain Studios is looking for a Lead Harmony Animator to join our team!  You may have known us as DHX Media – we’ve recently changed our name to reflect our renewed commitment to pushing the creative and focusing on the artist experience. At WildBrain we create epic entertainment experiences for kids and family through industry leading animation.     The role:

     

    As a Lead, you'll have the opportunity to animate some of the more challenging shots on episodes. You'll also support the Supervisors and a team of animators, helping to ensure a high level of quality throughout the show. If you have an eye for appealing, funny, and cartoony animation and previous experience mentoring others, join us in taking this awesome animated series to the next level! 

    Responsibilities

    You will get to...

    • Animating the episode's more challenging shots
    • Supporting the Animation Supervisor as needed
    • Meeting production milestones and deadlines, and motivating your team to do the same
    • Collaborating with the Animation Supervisor to ensure that the quality of animation is up to studio standards
    • Collaborating with Animators and Supervisors to identify and solve problems, both technically and artistically 
    • Mentoring a team of animators, providing extra support to newer artists
    • Working on other related projects and tasks as required

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if…

    • You're exceptionally organized with strong time management skills required for a fast-paced environment
    • You enjoy mentoring and coaching others, and have demonstrated the ability to successfully work with a diverse team (previous leadership experience is an asset)
    • You have excellent creative problem-solving skills
    • You're self-motivated and have a desire for continuous learning

    Specific skills we’d love to see… 

    • You have 3+ years of animation experience within a 2D production environment 
    • You have animated on a Harmony series and are confident in your technical abilities 
    • You have a strong grasp of animation principles, with an emphasis on: timing, spacing, staging, strong storytelling poses and the ability to stay on model
    • Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation school preferred
