    WildBrain Studios is looking for a Facilites PA/Runner to join our team!  You may have known us as DHX Media – we’ve recently changed our name to reflect our renewed commitment to pushing the creative and focusing on the artist experience.     The Role:

    As the Facility PA/Runner, you will be the supporting backbone of both the corporate and production teams of our Vancouver Studios. We’re looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic team-player who is ready and willing to take on any challenge that a busy animation studio can throw at them!     *Please note that as this is an entry-level position, there is an expectation of a one year commitment. This position requires a full valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

    Responsibilities

    You Will Get To:

    • MAINTAIN THE FACILITY
      • Assist the Facilities Manager and team with the daily requests that come through the ticketing system—this could be anything from general cleaning, adjusting the ventilation system, helping someone rearrange their office, hanging artwork, moving crew workstations
      • Communicate clearly with the rest of the Facilities team when starting and finishing a task, and at any point along the way where assistance is needed
      • Always be observant and aware of any maintenance tasks that may not have been reported yet (fix leaks, tidy areas, repair furniture, etc)
    • PERFORM GENERAL OFFICE TASKS
      • Reception/Phone coverage during your teammates’ lunch breaks, vacations, sick days
      • Keep kitchens and common areas tidy—this includes daily kitchen checks to unload/load dishwashers and clean up the counters
      • Assist with shipping/receiving
      • Be available to help with any photocopying, scanning, filing, and other general admin duties as they arise
      • Plan/schedule and assist with studio events/parties and meetings
    • RUN ERRANDS
      • Order, pick up, and deliver lunches either back to the studio, or to off-site locations
      • Deliver correspondence between locations in the city
      • Run tapes to post production houses
      • Pick up supplies from Costco, Ikea, Home Depot, and other various vendors around town
      • Drive executives and clients to restaurants, airport, and hotels
      • Be available to work on projects and take care of tasks that arise at our second studio location (10 minutes down the road)
    • COMMUNICATE WELL
      • Work closely with the team to create balanced solutions to issues
      • Correspond regularly via e-mail, IM and text message
      • Anticipate, communicate, and troubleshoot any creative or technical issues with assistance from the Facilities Manager
      • Readily modify, respond to, and integrate change as instructed by the Facilities Manager
      • Recommend any team training needs to the Facilities Manager
      • Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
      • Be a positive and creative force on the team

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if you have…

     

    • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and clean driving record (REQUIRED)
      • Mileage is reimbursed
    • Reliable cellphone (cell stipend provided)
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Solid knowledge of Microsoft office Suite
    • Previous experience in a production assistant, office or facilities-related role (BONUS)
    • Enthusiasm and organization
    • Proactivity and an eagerness to take on any task
    • Expert attention to detail and coordination skills
    • Ability to take direction, collaborate, and be a team player
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to build rapport and relate well to all kinds of people
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
    • Ability to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
