    WildBrain Studios is looking for an experienced Online Editor / Colourist to join our team!  You may have known us as DHX Media – we’ve recently changed our name to reflect our renewed commitment to pushing the creative and focusing on the artist experience.     The role:

     

    As an Online Editor / Colourist you will work with DaVinci Resolve to assemble high resolution shots of the show, assess final renders for technical issues, complete grading passes, and follow packaging and technical specifications to create the final delivery files.

     

    We are looking for someone with a track record of online editing/grading for episodic television using Resolve, who has a creative eye for colour in SDR & HDR, and enjoys being part of a creative and technical team.

     

    Responsibilities

    You will get to: 

    • Migrate locked episodes from Avid Media Composer to DaVinci Resolve
    • Complete slow pass QC reviews for the production team
    • Perform SDR & HDR grading passes for maximum creative impact
    • Create opening and closing credits along with other graphical elements
    • Deal with a wide variety of file formats (codecs, wrappers)
    • Use Harding FPA analysis software and when needed, recommend fix strategies to production
    • Output final master files for delivery
    • Communicate effectively with the production team
    • Manage editorial project/bins/media files efficiently
    • Participate in post meetings and adjust/refine work as indicated by the post production supervisor

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if you have…

    • 3+ years of finishing experience in Resolve, both packaging and grading for series
    • Excellent communication skills with a professional and collaborative attitude
    • An understanding of animation production processes
    • Strong sensibility for footage moving into an HDR space to maximize impact/vision
    • Strong understanding of post procedures, production and workflow
    • Strong understanding of technical specifications related to broadcast deliverables
    • Strong understanding of Davinci Resolve software is a must
    • Strong understanding of Photoshop is a must
    • Super human attention to detail
    • Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
    • Creative and proactive problem solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team

    Specific skills we’d love to see…

    • Experience with HDR grading for series is a plus
