Overview

WildBrain Studios is looking for an Artist Manager to join our team! If you have a solid understanding of people, animation production, and desire to influence and guide the careers of artists, as well as manage crewing and resourcing - we want to hear from you! We are excited to be building an Artist Management team and you’ll be instrumental in making this a success. At WildBrain Studios, we believe that our artists are the heart of our studio, and you’ll be their first point of contact.

 

We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!

Responsibilities

Artist Development

  • Support artists on their career development plans at the studio
  • Create and relate meaningful and timely development feedback to artists
  • Collaborate with heads of department for training opportunities
  • Support and manage cross collaboration and development opportunities for the artists
  • Help promote our creative studio culture

Planning and Resourcing Analysis

  • Work with Productions to implement plans for headcount increases and decreases within their assigned department.
  • Manage artist roll off plans at the end of production and ramp up for new productions or seasons
  • Maintain 100+ crewing assignments in alignment with artists plans and production
  • Manage scheduling and communication for 100+ contract amendments – working with the production teams to ensure timing and skill set compatibility
  • Work with HR to ensure start and end contract dates of artists are accurate and up to date
  • Manage artist onboarding and offboarding
  • Work with managers and supervisors to recommend appropriate salaries, pay raises and promotions
  • Interact and build successful relationships with key internal stakeholders: recruiting, training, HR, other artist managers

Performance Management

  • Conduct performance reviews with the input and support of the supervisors /managers
  • Work with productions and supervisors to accumulate 360 feedback
  • Support the recruitment teams in respect to requirements for external crewing and resource management, reel reviews, and outreach
  • Assist the Director of Artist Relations and Development in building a team and clear processes for this department to function at it’s very best

Qualifications

Work Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in Animation or VFX industry is a must

Experience

  • Experience with management principles, training and development
  • Experience in Production (Coordinating, PMing, Producing) is a bonus
  • Artist experience is a huge plus! Are you an artist looking for “life off the box?”
  • HR experience also a bonus!
