    WildBrain Studios is looking for an experienced Director of Studio Production Finance to join our team!  You may have known us as DHX Media – we’ve recently changed our name to reflect our renewed commitment to pushing the creative and focusing on the artist experience. At WildBrain we create epic entertainment experiences for kids and family through industry leading animation. Join us and see what other great things are happening at WildBrain!


    You will get to:

    • Act as an integral member of the Studio executive team reporting to the GM
    • Be responsible for all long-term production and capacity planning
    • Create and maintain a financial and capacity scenario planning model
    • Analyze, separate and recommend financial margins on productions
    • Build / re-build the production budgeting and bidding model
    • Be responsible for generating final budgets/bids for new projects (with input from key stakeholders)
    • Ensure timely and accurate production accounting and reporting
    • Directly manage production accountants
    • Establish a repository of relevant historical production data to draw on for production planning (budgets and schedules)
    • Take the lead on establishing template budgets, schedules and key assumptions
    • Evolve production templates over time leveraging historical data, thoughtful production analysis and close collaboration with the heads of production, producers and production teams
    • Establish, monitor and report on key studio-wide production metrics
    • Work closely with head of production, head of technology, controller, producers and key stakeholders in the Toronto HQ office for all matters relating to production finance and planning
    • Work on various ad-hoc analysis and decision support


    You would be a great fit on our team if you have...

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, MBA is preferred
    • Advanced (“power user”) excel capabilities
    • Advanced power-point capabilities
    • 5+ years in a management role within an FP&A function
    • Demonstrated experience as a dynamic, curious, and analytical thinker
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex issues for an executive-level audience
    • Prior production or production finance experience a plus
    • Experience working in a creative studio environment a plus
