Overview

WildBrain is looking for a Senior System Administrator to join our Vancouver studio. In this role you will be maintaining our core systems, applications, infrastructure with a perspective for ongoing improvements. You will partner with the Corporate Head Office in Toronto and support our global creative studios to ensure Vancouver’s systems align with company standards. The ideal candidate would have diversified skills in systems, network administration, technical documentation, and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, troubleshoot; network, server, storage, hardware and software solutions 
  • Analyze systems logs, identify potential issues in systems and proactively plan for ongoing improvement
  • Oversee and assist with prioritizing IT Ticketing, acting as Tier 2 support to ensure Service Level Agreements are on target; flex to support at all levels as needed 
  • Maintain security; firewall support, network switch configuration and management, ongoing auditing/testing 
  • Provide quality assurance scripts and checks to adhere to globally-defined architecture standards and studio standards
  • Plan, schedule and execute patching requirements 
  • Monitor all backups, maintaining data on-site and off-site as determined by business requirements; amend plans as required; and perform regular tests of the restore process from backups
  • Recommend and implement IT standards, operating procedures to align with studio compliance requirements
  • Participate in IT projects by understanding project objectives and scope; milestone deliverables, resource and capacity planning 
  • Any other duties or projects assigned by the Manager

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in IT support  
  • Ideally, BA in Technology or Engineering, or other relevant area of study, diploma, certificate and/or equivalent job experience
  • Working knowledge of with administration of network services (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, switching, routing)
  • Experienced enterprise System Administrator (Windows servers 2008-2019, Active directory, Exchange Server, VMWare, Veeam, MS SQL server); 
  • HPE Comware \ Aruba Network Certification 
  • Fortinet NextGen FW experience configuration and management 
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage Systems Isilon \ Pure \ HPE 
  • Experience in preparing technical documents in Visio
  • Highly organized and motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Must be customer-centric with excellent oral and written communication skills  
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundations, MCSE MCSA, vmWare 6 & 6.5

Bonus:

  • Experience in animation and/or film industry
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundations, MCSE MCSA, vmWare 6 & 6.5
  • Prior working experience within a Broadcast/Media organization; O365 experience
  • Red Hat: RHCSA and RHCE 
  • CompTIA Server+ 
  • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization 
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator 
  • Flexibility to travel, a plus
